They work together with architects, developers and authorities and, in addition to mathematical and technical understanding, must therefore also have leadership and organizational skills as well as solution-oriented thinking - soft skills that are learned on the Civil Engineering myStudy course.
In the myStudy Civil Engineering program, you will receive a broad basic education in engineering, starting with basic knowledge in architecture, through the topics of structural design, economic efficiency, energy and resource-conscious construction and much more, also taking into account the latest developments, keyword construction industry 4.0. A large number of compulsory elective modules offer you the opportunity to focus on areas that are of particular interest to you.

Self-study with learning materials and learning AI. Subsequent consolidation through regular accompanying events on campus or virtually. Exams can be taken on your campus or flexibly online.

Contents in myStudium Bachelor of Bauingenieurwesen
In the Civil Engineering-myStudy program, you will deal with mathematical, scientific and technical fundamentals and acquire the basic knowledge of construction engineering that builds on this. You will also learn soft skills that are important in everyday working life in the construction industry. After graduating, you will be able, for example, to formulate requirements for construction projects, develop construction engineering and construction management solutions, recognize the connection between design and construction and assess a project in terms of its cost-effectiveness, design and resource- and energy-conscious construction methods, as well as make suggestions for optimization in this regard.
Our Bachelor's degree program has a modular structure, i.e. you study on the basis of subject areas that are divided into modules. After successfully completing the modules, you will be credited with ECTS points (European Credit Transfer System), which document your achievements. These ECTS points are internationally comparable and of course recognized.
Compulsory practical projects in myStudy Civil Engineering
In order to obtain the Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering, you must complete three practical projects as part of your studies, each worth 5 ECTS (150 hours each) in the areas of "Construction Site and Building Materials", "Construction Site and Surveying" and "Planning Office". All three practical projects can be completed from the start of your studies, but it is recommended that you plan at least the two practical projects "Construction site and building materials" and "Construction site and surveying" at the beginning of your studies if possible. You can gain your practical experience in construction companies, construction laboratories, engineering offices, specialist authorities or at expert firms. The practical experience must be accepted by the university.
