Economic actors are increasingly relying on the insights of psychology to create an optimal environment for employees. Therefore, a psychology bachelor's degree is in high demand and is becoming more and more important in the digital age.
That is why it is important to us that everyone who is interested in the Bachelor's programme can study at the IU –without NC and waiting semesters.
The aim of the Psychology myStudium programme is to specifically focus on scientific work and research.

Degree: B.Sc., 180 ECTS credits Study
Duration: 6 Semesters
Admission: A-levels (Technical Diploma), Subject-specific higher education entrance qualification or possible without A-levels. Please find further information under Admission.
Study Model & Examinations
Self-study with learning materials and learning AI. Subsequent consolidation through regular accompanying events on campus or virtually. Exams can be taken on your campus or flexibly online.
Courses
2-3 days per week in the attendance phase. Practical work with your fellow students under the guidance of experienced lecturers. Days and times vary depending on location/semester.

This is what awaits you in your study programme Psychologie
The psychology content of your myStudium is oriented towards practice. During your studies, the focus is on clinical psychology, among other things, with an attractive range of courses. You will also be taught methodological skills in the field of empirical scientific research. Through a job-related internship in the 5th semester, you will gain important practical experience.
Our bachelor's degree programme has a modular structure. You therefore study based on subject areas that are divided into so-called modules. You will receive ECTS points (European Credit Transfer System) for each successful module completion, which document your achievements. These ECTS points are internationally comparable and of course, recognised.

Dein Weg zur Berufsbezeichnung Psycholog:in:
Die Berufsbezeichnung Psycholog:in ist nicht mit Psychotherapeut:in gleichzusetzen. Letztere erfordert einen speziellen Bildungsweg und konzentriert sich auf die Behandlung von Menschen mit psychischen Erkrankungen.
Die Bezeichnung Psychologin oder Psychologe ist geschützt und kann nur von Personen verwendet werden, die ein mindestens vierjähriges Hauptfachstudium der Psychologie mit mindestens 240 ECTS-Punkten abgeschlossen haben. Davon müssen mindestens 210 Punkte in psychologischen Grundlagen-, Methoden- und Anwendungsfächern, in Praktika (15–30 Punkte) und durch eine wissenschaftliche Abschlussarbeit mit psychologischer Fragestellung erworben worden sein. Der Weg führt über einen Bachelor mit konsekutivem Master im Hauptfachstudium Psychologie.
Nach Abschluss des B.Sc. Psychologie an der IU kannst Du die Berechtigung zur Berufsbezeichnung Psycholog:in erwerben, indem Du einen den Vorgaben der Berufsverbände entsprechenden Masterstudiengang absolvierst. Bisher bieten wir noch keinen solchen Master an der IU an.
